Project Description
CLINICAL JOINT ASSESSMENT
I will look at and assess the range of movement you have in the joints. It could be that these are adding to your problems and pains and then treatment can be targeted to address specific problems.
ASSESSMENT
During a clinical joint assessment I will ask you to perform an active range of movement tests to a point where you can’t move in that way any more, you have pain or I ask you to stop. I will also perform these as a passive test, this means that I will move your body and also resisted. You will also complete strength tests for the muscles around the joint being assessed and I will carry out tests to assess the ligaments around the joint. The final part of a clinical joint assessment is the special tests for that joint which can help with identifying specific problems and allow me to form a treatment plan.
